Q:Take yourself back to Match Day. When you found out you matched with WellSpan, what excited you most in that moment?
A:
When I found out I matched, it was a moment of pure joy, gratitude, and a miracle I will never forget. After a long and challenging journey filled with sacrifices and taking time after medical school to raise my family, being accepted into residency felt nothing short of extraordinary. It reflected the resilience, determination, and perseverance that carried me through every obstacle. It reminded me of the vision my parents, as immigrants, instilled in me: to work hard, pursue a noble calling, and build a life rooted in meaning and service. My husband’s unwavering support and belief in me made this dream possible.
Q:How does that same excitement show up for you now as a Post Graduate Year 1?
A:
Now, as a PGY-1, that same excitement drives me every day. I wake up knowing I get to learn, lead, and care for patients, while also being a mom to Yaqub and Zakariah, who are my inspiration and give my work purpose. Every challenge is an opportunity to grow, every day a privilege, and every patient a chance to make a difference. The best is truly yet to come!
